What tint is legal in the UK?
The windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and the front side windows at least 70%, measured through the glass and film together. The rear side windows and rear windscreen have no limit.

Is window tint legal in the UK?
Yes, within limits. For cars first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and the front side windows at least 70%, measured through the glass and any film together. There is no limit on the rear side windows or the rear windscreen, so they can be tinted as dark as you like.
How dark can I tint my rear windows?
As dark as you want. UK law sets no limit on rear side windows or the rear windscreen, so limo tint (5%) is legal there. The darker the film, the more privacy you get.
How much does car window tinting cost in Northampton?
At Tinting Brothers, tinting starts at £100 for a 3 door hatchback and goes up to £170 for a large SUV. The price depends on the body type. Send us your registration and we will confirm the exact price.
How long does window tinting take?
Most cars done in under 3 hours. You can wait in our seating area with a coffee while we work.
Is there a warranty on the tint?
Yes. Car window tinting comes with a lifetime warranty. It covers peeling and fading. It does not cover damage, such as scratches from sharp or hard objects, because the film sits on the inside of the glass.
Where are you and when are you open?
We are at 17a Mansion Close, Moulton Park Industrial Estate, Northampton NN3 6RU. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
Do you do detailing and ceramic coating as well?
Yes. Alongside tinting we do interior and exterior detailing, valeting, machine polishing with ceramic coating, headlight restoration and PPF, de-chroming and calliper wrapping, all at the same workshop.
